When is the closing date for The BMJ Awards entries?
Entries will close on Friday, 02 February 2018.
How much does it cost to enter?
Entries are free of charge. An optional Benchmark Report is available for £40 + VAT for all categories except the Outstanding Contribution to Health and Research Paper Categories. If you purchased a Benchmark Report, you will receive this 2 weeks after the BMJ Awards ceremony.
When and where is The BMJ Awards ceremony?
The BMJ Awards will take place on Thursday 10 May 2018 in the Park Plaza Westminster Hotel (200 Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London, SE1 7UT).
Getting to the Park Plaza Westminster Hotel
The nearest mainline station to the Park Plaza Westminster Hotel is London Waterloo, which is a five minute walk. Westminster tube station is also close to the hotel and is accessible from the Jubilee Line.
When will I know if I've been shortlisted?
All entrants will be contacted in mid-February 2018. Please ensure that the contact details you give on your entry form are up to date and relevant for your entry.
If I am shortlisted, what are the judging dates?
The judging will take place on Thursday 10 May 2018 at BMA House, London

What do I do if I've made the shortlist?
If you are shortlisted for an award, you will be contacted by The BMJ Awards team who will invite you to the judging day and explain further about the process and how to prepare for the day. You will be asked to provide some further information and photos of your team. You will also be contacted by a journalist who will be writing a feature for The BMJ.
When do I find out if I have won?
All winners will be announced at The BMJ Awards ceremony on Thursday 10 May 2018.
Is there a cost to attend The BMJ Awards ceremony?
One member of each shortlisted team will be invited to attend the ceremony for free. There is a charge for any additional places. More information and pricing will be released closer to the time of the awards.
What is the dress code?
The dress code is black tie.
Is there a special rate for hotel accommodation near the venue?
Yes. We have rooms available at the Park Plaza Westminster Hotel and nearby hotels for a discounted rate. You can book your accommodation here.
What do we receive for winning or for being shortlisted?
The winning team in each category will receive a trophy presented on stage. All shortlisted teams will receive a finalists’ certificate.
All winners are also showcased in The BMJ, one of the oldest general medical journals in the world.
